December 2024’s episode will feature the Big Ol’ Occasional Cajun Band Holiday Throwdown w/ special guests Clayton Burke on pedal steel and Jeff Yonkus on fiddle. In addition, some of our local friends who have played with the band over the year will sit in for part of the show. This will include Frances Harris (fiddle), Sean Kutzko (drums) and perhaps others. We’ll play our usual mix of Cajun, Creole & Zydeco and have a lot of fun.

The Occasional Cajun Band plays a mix of traditional Cajun, Creole and Zydeco music. The band performs music found in the dancehalls (and at festivals) in southwest Louisiana including lively two-steps, soulful waltzes, and get-down Zydeco. We hope that you’ll want to dance. Musical influences include the Balfa Brothers, Boozoo Chavis, Bois Sec Ardoin, Canray Fontenot, Preston Frank, and Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys.
