Greetings friends and music lovers,

The Occasional Cajun Band will be performing on Wed., May 29 at Carle Park in Urbana, 6:30 to 8:00PM. This concert will kick-off the 2024 Neighborhood Nights free concerts, sponsored by the Urbana Park District. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket, some friends and family and let’s get the summer started.

For this show, the band will be joined by Blake Miller a multi-instrumentalist (fiddle, accordion, bass, and more) and Grammy-nominated musician from the Lafayette,. LA area. Blake was a founding member of the Pine Leaf Boys and also played with the Red Stick Ramblers. He currently plays with The Revelers and Blake Miller and his Old Fashioned Aces. Blake is the grandson of Larry Miller, one of the well-known accordion builders in Louisiana. Blake grew up surrounded by Cajun music and culture.

The core of the band will be there and that includes Charlie Harris (bass), Sam Payne (guitar), Dad Dave Pride (drums), Matt Turino (fiddle) and yours truly on accordion.
