Join favorites Too Old To Be Controlled and caller Scott Meyer for a rollicking good time!

Too Old to Be ControlledCentral Illinois band Too Old To Be Controlled plays straight-up old-time that gets dancers swinging in no time.  Claudia Kaufman, fiddle, Gary Kaufman, banjo and Dave Kuntz, guitar, play tunes rooted in southern Appalachian music.

Scott Meyer

Scott Meyer fell in love with contra and English country dancing from his first night on a dance floor-remarkably the concrete floor of a picnic shelter at Urbana’s Crystal Lake Park- back in 1993. Besides being a regular fixture at the Urbana dances, Scott loves to travel to dance weekends in the region and tries to make it to dance camp Back East once a year. Scott began calling contra dances in 2004 and English country dances in 2005, and he frequently leads new dancer orientations at contra dances in Urbana. When not dancing, Scott works as a hydrogeologist at the Illinois State Water Survey.

This event is generously cosponsored by the Urbana Country Dancers.
