Nightjar Promotions Singer-Songwriter Showcase with Midas the Crow, Vivian McConnell, Justin Rondon, Gloria Roubal

Nightjar ShowcaseNightjar Promotions presents four wonderful original local singer-songwriters in conjunction with the C-U Folk & Roots Festival.

In just six short months since moving to Champaign from Southwest Missouri, Justin Larkin, a/k/a Midas the Crow, has gained a devoted following with his heartfelt songs and outgoing personality. His music has gained the acclaim of other musicians, too – many requesting to play with him at local showcases.

As the lead singer/songwriter for the popular local bands Grandkids and Santah, Vivian McConnell has become one of the most well known voices on Champaign’s music scene. Her haunting original songs and dynamic vocals are not to be missed!

Justin Rondon, who made a big splash during the recent Woody Guthrie Centennial Celebration concert, is a Champaign native who is a lover of all kinds of music. His fantastic original songs are influenced by a mixture of folk, jazz, and rock.

Champaign singer/songwriter Gloria Roubal has been playing music on the Central Illinois scene for more than 20 years – in her own band G. Lee & Jet Blonde, as well as in various other bands, acoustic groups and duos, and in a solo acoustic format – playing mostly her own original songs, which range from blues to rock/pop in sound and sensibility.
