SUMMARY:Fiddle Tune Workshop & Concert
DESCRIPTION:Charlie Walden and Aaron Albrecht will present a fiddle tune workshop and concert. The event is the culmination of their participation in the 2024 Illinois Arts Council’s Master-Apprentice Program for folk arts. \nIn the workshop Charlie and Aaron will teach a hoe-down and a waltz with Midwestern origins. They’ll also answer questions about technique\, improving your overall sound and anything else you want to throw at them. Teaching will be “by ear”\, but notation will be available at the end of the workshop. Fiddles\, mandolins\, banjo\, accordions and other old-time melody instruments are welcome. \nThe concert will consist of a batch of midwestern favorites they’ve been working on during their apprenticeship. They’ll be accompanied on piano by Patt Plunkett. \nThe workshop will start at the 3:00 PM. The concert will begin at 4:00 PM. \nThere will be a free-will donation at the door.\nThe workshop will be available afterwards at patreon.com/charliewalden. The concert will be recorded for rebroadcast at youtube.com/charliewalden.
