Join us on Wednesday, April 10, from 6:30-10:00pm at the Iron Post for a special performance by Tim Eriksen and the Trio de Pumpkintown, with special guests The Young and the Fretless. Tim is acclaimed for transforming American musical tradition with his startling interpretations of old ballads, love songs, shape-note gospel and dance tunes from New England and Southern Appalachia. He combines vocals with accompaniment on banjo, fiddle, guitar and bajo sexto – a twelve string Mexican acoustic bass. Tim is joined by Peter Irvine on hand percussion and Zoe Darrow on fiddle. Together they are Trio de Pumpkintown and will be performing multicultural folk songs from an imaginary New England Village.
Opening for them will be local favorites, The Young and the Fretless. The Young and the Fretless plays old-time mountain music on the prairie – a mix of Appalachian mountain and Midwestern tunes and songs. Its members are Claire Johnson (fiddle), Tom Bassett (fretless banjo and banjo ukulele), Matt Croisant (guitar), and Chris Strand (bass).
$10.00 at the door.
